If we receive your order by 2pm on Mondays-Thursdays, we will despatch it the same day by first class recorded mail or courier. Orders received before 2pm on a Friday may not be received until the following Monday, so may not arrive until the following Tuesday. Please note that your delivery will require a signature.

We’ve devised an ingenious food measurement system called Bites. Bites are units of food roughly equivalent to 200 calories, but nutritionally balanced and measured. This means we do the worrying for you about what’s in your food and whether or not it is nutritionally right for you. You will be allocated a number of Bites each day based on the number of shakes you are having. You will be able to find out what you should be eating each day by going to our Eating Plan page in the members’ area. Here you will be able to see what a 1-,2-or 3-shake day will look like for you personally. You will see what your Bite allowance is, and how we recommend you structure your eating day for the best weight loss and health results.

Yes, our meal replacement shakes are packed full of vitamins, minerals and all things good for you. They are high in fibre, high in protein, with natural prebiotics and omega 3. And because they are low GI, they will work for you to naturally reduce your appetite through the day. As you would expect, there are no added sugars or artificial colourings. No you don’t have to, but we recommend that regular physical exercise (just simple things – you don’t have to become a complete gym bunny!) helps you adopt a healthier lifestyle and achieve the best results. So your personalised diet programme will be more effective if you do some exercise as well. Even just a little more movement a day that you normally do will help you enjoy successful, sustained weight loss.

Our shakes have a low GI of just 35, which means they naturally work with your body to reduce hunger pangs, successfully setting you on the road to long-term weight loss. You probably won’t believe that you won’t feel hungry until you try our shakes for yourself! We felt the same way before we knew better!

We’ve devised an ingenious food measurement system called Bites. Bites are units of food roughly equivalent to 200 calories, but nutritionally balanced and measured. This means we do the worrying for you about what’s in your food and whether or not it is nutritionally right for you. Each shake is 1 Bite.

We recommend that you normally stick to 2 Slimavite shakes per day (ideally for breakfast and lunch), plus a tasty and healthy main meal. However, we know that this won’t always work for you because of your busy schedule and we really do want you to have a normal social life. So each day you can decide whether to just have 1 shake (perhaps you are meeting someone for lunch?) or whether you want to make up for yesterday’s extras, in which case you can step up to 3 shakes for the day.

It really is very flexible. Just try to have around 14 shakes a week and avoid having more than three 3-shake days per week. Easy!

About the Slimavite shakes

We don’t recommend replacing 3 meals a day with Slimavite shakes more than 3 times a week.

We recommend that you normally stick to 2 Slimavite shakes per day (ideally for breakfast and lunch), plus a tasty and healthy main meal. Added sugars means just that; sugars that have been deliberately added as ingredients – such as sugar, honey, fructose, corn syrup and so on – rather than sugars that are already present in foods in their natural state. We don’t add any such sugars to Slimavite shakes, but some comes from the complex carbohydrates and also from the milk that you mix the product with.

Yes. Soya milk works equally well – just be sure to choose one without added sugar.

This is a prebiotic fibre that is extracted from chicory. It has a minimum impact on blood sugar levels and is also thought to aid the absorption of calcium.

Dieting and Health

You may have heard about ketosis as a way of dieting. However, we don’t recommend or support it. Losing weight fast is not normally the best approach. Losing weight steadily is more healthy – and sustainable over the long term.

Ketosis is a physical condition resulting from a drastically low-carbohydrate diet. In theory, losing weight by forcing your body into ketosis by severely restricting your intake of carbohydrates may sound like a good idea. But it’s pretty extreme, unpleasant to maintain (bad breath and constipation are common side effects), and it often results in rapid weight gain when you come off it. Not to mention the obvious long-term risks to your health.

For anyone leading a normal, active life, losing weight by eating a little less and moving a little more, is a far better method. Controlled fat-burning is the key to healthy and sustainable weight loss. If, within your slightly reduced total energy intake, you can eat a reasonable balance of calories derived from carbohydrates, fat and protein, from a wide range of foods, you will almost certainly be getting your body’s full requirement of all nutrients. This will help you to keep on the move, lose weight steadily, lead a busy lifestyle and still enjoy your food, all of which will in turn help you to lose weight and keep it off, without seriously restricting yourself.

This is not an appropriate time to try to lose weight by dieting, as your body will be adapting to the changing nutritional needs of both you and your baby. If you're worried about your weight at this time, please speak to your health professional.

Slimavite shakes are made up with milk, and include cereals containing gluten and soy. Please consult your health professional about any illnesses or medical conditions.

Questions relating to diabetes

The guidance on intake of alcohol for diabetics is the same as for the rest of the population. However, you should be aware that you are more likely to suffer from hypoglycaemia (low blood sugar levels) if too little carbohydrate is consumed. For optimum results, it is best not to drink alcohol while on the Bite Plan programme. If you are celebrating and want a drink, then try to have alcohol with a meal. Do not replace a meal or snack with alcohol, as this can lead to hypoglycaemia.

The most common way of dealing with a hypo is to consume a fast-acting carbohydrate, such as a high energy drink (like Lucozade, for example), or to take glucose tablets. This should be followed by eating your next meal if it is due or eating a snack of a complex carbohydrate, such as a cereal bar, sandwich or some fruit. If you frequently suffer from hypos while following the Bite Plan programme, you may find it helpful to increase your snacks. But always seek advice from your healthcare team.

Your healthcare team is best placed to answer this specifically for you. As a guide, Diabetes UK suggests a level of 4-6mmol/l before meals and then a maximum of 10mmol/l two hours after eating.

No, Slimavite shakes are not available to buy in any high street store. Keeping the sale of Slimavite products exclusively online enables us to better offer you personalised support and advice to help you succeed.

If, for some reason, your delivery doesn’t arrive, please email us at sales@slimavite.com and we’ll investigate straightaway!

First, you need to let us know that this is what you want to do. You can do this by sending us an email to sales@slimavite.com. It is really important that you contact us before returning your pots as we require a reference number to be able to process the refund – unfortunately, we’re not able to refund you without this. Please note that the 30-day guarantee is limited to one pot of each flavour per customer.

Once you contact us, we will give you a reference number to write on the outside of your parcel. Then, when we receive it, we will refund you straightaway – it’s as simple as that!
